Welcome! The AMS Family Faith Assessment is for active duty families with children in grades Pre K to 12. This interactive assessment is not simply a test but a year-round process designed to support/accompany parents in their baptismal call (as primary teachers of the “domestic church”) to engage youth and children to grow in knowledge, understanding and living of the Catholic faith. The Assessment invites families to build faith-filled households of missionary disciples willing to share the joy of the gospel of Jesus Christ by witness and service to all.
The Assessment process is based upon the standards and indicators taught in the Catholic faith community religious education program as delineated in the AMS Forming Disciples for the New Evangelization: Archdiocesan Religion Curriculum Guide. The year-round process includes the Family Assessment, Family Play and Student Assessment. Parents and children can schedule a common time to take the Family Assessment together during September 1 to October 31. The Family Play faith quizzes are accessible at all times during the year. Students will have the opportunity to show parents how much they have learned by taking the Student Assessment (alone) between April 1 and May 31. The scores stored in the student AMS Family Faith Passport accompany the family as they PCS. Parents, catechists and clergy working together will support the faith growth of youth and children in the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA as families PCS around the world.
The Q&A must never be printed, copied or saved to maintain the integrity of the process. Contact the AMS Office of Faith Formation at FaithFormation@milarch.org or 202-719-3623 with questions about faith formation of adults, youth and children.
