A message from the Archbishop
Welcome to the AMS Family Faith Assessment!
Congratulations! Your commitment to grow in knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith with your child this year is to be commended. Your active participation in Mass, the Family Play games and the religious education program have prepared your child to take the Student Assessment. The Student Assessment is available from 1 April until 31 May. Check the scorekeeper on your Family Faith Passport for a detailed report of family accomplishments this catechetical year. Encourage your family to play the faith games year-round.
This assessment process is based upon the standards and indicators in the Archdiocesan Religion Curriculum Guide called Forming Disciples for the New Evangelization that is expected to be used with each military Catholic faith community religious education program. I encourage you to make the time to challenge one another with the assessment first and then with the bonus quizzes seeking answers together. The assessment and the quizzes will naturally lead to new questions as family members listen more attentively to weekly homilies, notice the changes of the liturgical seasons, and through prayer become more intimately connected with Jesus Christ.
May this assessment combined with daily prayer and reflection with the Scriptures, enhance your family’s participation in the Sunday Eucharistic celebration.
Invoking the abundant blessing of Almighty God upon your family, I remain
Sincerely in Christ,
(The Most Reverend) Timothy P. Broglio, J.C.D
Archbishop for the Military Services, USA
